Welcome to Steps2Speech

Steps2Speech is a Yorkshire-based independent speech and language therapy practice developed by Maria Cameron.

My philosophy is that each child has the right to reach their communication potential, and that, together with parents, I can help your child achieve this.

I provide individually tailored assessment and child centred therapy sessions which can be home based, in nursery, school or at my practice. My vision is to coach you as parents / carers and school staff to have the confidence to develop your child’s speech, language and communication.

I work with children aged 0 - 19 with a range of needs around:

  • Hearing Impairment
  • Understanding spoken language
  • Putting words together in sentences
  • Learning what words mean and developing vocabulary.
  • Articulation ( speech sounds which may be slow in coming including children with dyspraxia)
  • Auditory Processing Disorder
  • High level Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

If you have a worry about your child’s speech and language development then feel free to get in touch with Maria by phone or email. I am happy to travel throughout Yorkshire to meet clients.
